Careers and University guidance

Careers and university guidance is a process involving personal assessment, educational advising, and career exploration to help students and individuals choose the right path for their future, whether that involves higher education or direct entry into the workforce.

This support is often provided through schools, universities, government services, and private consultancies and includes activities such as personality tests, one-on-one advising, information on universities and jobs, and help with applications.

How it works:

1. Self-Reflection:

Students identify their interests, strengths, values, and personality traits to understand their potential.

2. Exploration:

They research different universities, colleges, careers, and industries to learn about their options.

3. Information Gathering:

Guidance counsellors provide up-to-date information on higher education opportunities, apprenticeships, and various job roles.

4. Skill Development:

Guidance also focuses on developing key employability skills, such as communication and problem-solving, and navigating the job market.

5. Application Support:

Support is provided for the entire application process for universities and jobs, including writing personal statements, filling out forms, and meeting deadlines.
